The Council of Legal Education received a courtesy visit from a delegation of the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton at the Council’s offices.

The delegation was led by Dr. Paul Wahonya, the Outgoing Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs). The meeting was attended on behalf of the Council by Ms. Annah Konuche, Director, Standards, Licensing, Supervision and Compliance.

The visit provided an opportunity for constructive engagement and detailed discussions on the licensing of Legal Education Providers in Kenya. The discussions focused on the regulatory requirements, procedures, and standards applicable to institutions offering legal education, as guided by the Legal Education Act, Cap. 16B.

The Council reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with institutions of higher learning to promote compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in legal education and training. Such engagements form part of CLE’s broader mandate to safeguard standards and strengthen collaboration with stakeholders in the legal education sector.
