CLE CEO Attends Official Launch of Zetech University School of Law and LL.B Programme
The Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Legal Education, Prof. Jack Mwimali, attended the official launch of the Zetech University School of Law and its Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Programme at the Technology Park – Mang’u Campus.
The launch marks a significant milestone in the advancement of legal education in Kenya, following the university’s accreditation by both the Council of Legal Education and the Commission for University Education (CUE) to offer the LL.B degree programme.
Prior to the launch, the Zetech University School of Law underwent an audit and inspection by CLE in line with the Council’s statutory mandate under the Legal Education Act, which requires CLE to regulate, license, supervise and ensure quality in legal education and training in Kenya.
The event brought together distinguished guests, members of the legal fraternity, academia, and students to celebrate the establishment of a law school that seeks to integrate Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship in preparing the next generation of legal professionals.
The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Hon. Justice Isaac Lenaola, who joined other legal professionals in underscoring the need to nurture lawyers who are ethical, innovative, and responsive to the changing demands of the legal profession. In his remarks, Hon. Justice Lenaola noted that:
“Lawyers must be sufficiently skilled in skills that matter.”
Speaking during the event, Prof. Jack Mwimali conveyed CLE’s goodwill and confidence in the institution, noting that the launch of the law school represents an important step in expanding access to quality legal education and training in Kenya. He also extended his best wishes to the pioneer class as they begin their legal education journey.
The Council of Legal Education congratulates Zetech University School of Law on this important achievement and wishes the institution and its first cohort success as they embark on this new chapter.
Congratulations to Zetech University School of Law!
